นางทองอุไร กล่าวว่า ที่ผ่านมาผู้เกี่ยวข้องจากทุกภาคส่วนเป็นฟันเฟืองสำคัญที่ทำให้การปรับเปลี่ยนบัตรเอทีเอ็มและบัตรเดบิตเป็นชิปการ์ดได้สำเร็จ โดยเฉพาะสมาคมธนาคารไทย ซึ่งได้กำหนดมาตรฐานชิปการ์ดของไทย (Thai bank chip card standard) เพื่อใช้กับบัตรเอทีเอ็มและบัตรเดบิตที่ออกในประเทศ เพื่อให้ลูกค้าธนาคารต่าง ๆ สามารถใช้งานเครื่องเอทีเอ็มระหว่างกันได้ (interoperability) นอกจากนี้ ภาคธนาคารยังร่วมมือปรับเปลี่ยนระบบงาน และพัฒนาเครื่องเอทีเอ็มและเครื่องรับบัตรให้พร้อมรองรับการใช้งานบัตรเอทีเอ็มและบัตรเดบิตแบบชิปการ์ดด้วย
